Our business brokerage, simplebroker.io, aims to be the simplest and most accessible business brokerage in the world. We believe in simplicity and value delivery, and we operate under three main arms: SIMPLE Profits (our business advisory), SIMPLE Broker (our business brokerage), and SIMPLE Capital (our capital arm).
Becoming a Business Broker
There are numerous reasons why you might want to become a business broker. It's a fantastic way to break into the world of buying and selling companies or private equity. This journey can help you build networks and relationships, and for the 'investopreneur', it's an excellent route to add a supplementary income stream until you build up enough of a business to make it your primary source of income.
To become a broker with us, everyone follows the same process. Our process is based purely on performance, not pay-to-play.
The Journey to Business Brokerage
Your journey begins with becoming an equity scout with us, which involves completing the buy-sell boot camp in our community and registering with a referral link. The next step is to get 30 referrals into our free newsletter and community. This threshold is designed to gauge your effort and intentionality.
Upon reaching 30 referrals, you become eligible to apply for an interview. Our screening process is split into two parts, aimed at preparing you for our broker training and assessing your suitability for our team.
Broker Training and Certification
Our broker training consists of pre-work and two-part training. The pre-work covers all the foundational information, ensuring you are well-equipped and prepared for the training. Once you've passed the pre-training, we'll guide you through how to value a business, create and present a transformation plan, understand the components of the safer agreement, and communicate effectively.
The secondary part of the training focuses on closing deals. We'll give you insights into the anatomy of a deal, how we build and close deals, and how we ensure clients experience the right things at the right time for the right reasons.
The certification at the end of the training aims to ensure you've absorbed and understood the material. Passing the certification signals that you're ready to proceed further, while not passing means reassessing your progress and understanding before moving forward.
Onboarding and Continuous Support
Following certification, our onboarding process is flexible, designed to accommodate the realities of life and the likelihood that you may be balancing this role with a day job. Our continued support includes ongoing calls and assistance, weekly sales calls with your deal team leader, pipeline and deal reviews, community events, workshops, and quarterly recertifications to ensure you remain at the top of your game.
Being part of the deal team means driving deals and activity across all aspects of our ecosystem, including advisory, capital stack, portfolio, and buy-sell brokerage service. We want you to be a part of the ecosystem, living it, being it, and doing it.
